Aaron J. Samide, MD, FAAP is an attending physician with Norton Children's Medical Group Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He provides comprehensive inpatient care to pediatric patients at Norton Children's Hospital and Norton Women's and Children's Hospital, as well as to newborns at University of Louisville Hospital. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Kentucky before completing his pediatric residency, chief residency, and Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. He is dual board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. His primary area of interest is resident education, particularly in relation to coaching and mentorship. He is among the first graduates of the COMSEP COACH Program, which provides training and certification in coaching within medical education. He has conducted research regarding the impact of virtual inpatient rounds on the resident experience and the use of virtual vs. in-person direct observation of real patient encounters for trainee coaching purposes.
