Alexi R. Hernandez is a highly experienced board-certified neurologist based in Louisville, Kentucky, with more than 40 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex neurologic disorders. He serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and practices with UofL Health, where he specializes in epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, and general neurology.

Dr. Hernandez earned his medical degree from the Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas de Santiago de Cuba in 1985. He subsequently completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and Neurology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he developed extensive expertise in neurologic diagnosis and patient care.

Board certified in Neurology, Dr. Hernandez' clinical interests  include clinical neurophysiology and the treatment of patients with complex neurologic presentations requiring advanced diagnostic evaluation and long-term management.

Throughout his decades-long career in the Louisville region, Dr. Hernandez has been affiliated with several major healthcare institutions, including UofL Health – Jewish Hospital, University of Louisville Hospital, and Robley Rex VA Medical Center. He is recognized for his longstanding commitment to patient care, neurologic education, and the treatment of challenging neurological disorders across a broad spectrum of clinical practice.
