My name is Dr. Amber Thomas, and I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville School of Nursing Owensboro Extension. I have been in academia since 2021, bringing with me expertise in critical care and emergency nursing as well as leadership/management and clinical education experience. I am dedicated to student outcomes and support students by providing a safe, interactive, and fun learning environment in both the didactic and clinical settings. Student engagement is a high priority for me; thus, I utilize multiple teaching modalities that both engage and challenge students to expand upon their critical thinking and clinical judgement skills. I truly enjoy bringing my passion for nursing to the classroom and clinical environments and take great pride in seeing my students have a “light bulb” moment.
