Dr. Winters has over 17 years of practice experience with youth and families who were part of the child welfare and behavioral health systems. This experience informs his research agenda which addresses two focal areas: 1) increasing equity within child-serving systems and 2) improving workforce and organizational capacity within child-serving systems. His current scholarship is primarily focused on the facilitators and barriers to service implementation and sustainability within child serving systems. Dr. Winters’ work demonstrates a strong commitment to improving youth-serving service delivery systems, which are influential in reducing adverse outcomes among structurally disadvantaged young people.
