Dr. Cao earned her medical degree with a distinction in research from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatric Otolaryngology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. She completed a two-year fellowship specializing in Pediatric Otolaryngology and airway surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, OH.

Dr. Cao focuses on the complex care of children with airway and aerodigestive disorders, including narrowing of the voice box or windpipe, swallowing difficulty, sialorrhea (drooling), and aspiration. She also treats children with sleep apnea, hearing loss, sinus issues, and head and neck masses.
