Brandon Wuerth, M.D., is a distinguished Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology at the University of Louisville, where he has been serving since 2020. With a robust educational background, including a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky (2002-2007), an M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Medicine (2010-2014), and advanced training through an Internal Medicine Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina (2014-2017) and a Fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at the University of Louisville (2017-2020), Dr. Wuerth brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Dr. Wuerth also help startup the University of Louisville Inflammatory Bowel Disease clinic that has a mutidisciplinary team of physicians, a nurse practioneer, dietician and pharmacist. 

Currently, he also holds the position of Associate Chief Medical Information Officer at UofL Health since 2022, where he collaborates with IT leadership to advance healthcare informatics and technology, enhancing patient-centered care. His extensive experience as a Physician Informaticist (2019-2022) and his certifications as an EPIC Certified Physician Builder and in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine underscore his technical and medical proficiency. Dr. Wuerth actively contributes to various leadership committees, including the PowerPlan Subcommittee, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, and the American College of Gastroenterology’s Tech & Innovation Committee, while his research and presentations on gastrointestinal and infectious diseases further highlight his impact in the field.
