Brian Williams, M.D., is a neurosurgeon and Director of the Brain Tumor Program for UofL Health.

Dr. Williams is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He joined the faculty in August 2016 after completing his residency in neurological surgery and specialty training in neurosurgical oncology and skull base surgery. Dr. Williams has special expertise in treating primary and metastatic tumors of the brain, spine, and skull base. In general, he seeks to treat each patient in the least invasive fashion possible. This includes using minimally invasive approaches such as laser ablation and endoscopic surgery whenever indicated.

Dr. Williams believes in patient-centered and collaborative medical treatment. He works closely with patients, family/caregivers, and other healthcare providers to develop an individualized treatment plan for each specific circumstance. He works in multidisciplinary clinics for neuro-oncology and pituitary tumors.

In addition to his sub-specialty, Dr. Williams performs general neurosurgery procedures. He is licensed in Kentucky and Texas. 

Dr. Williams was named to Louisville Magazine's Top Surgeons 2018 list in the Brain Surgery category.
