Dr. Bridget Hittepole is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine at the University of Louisville and UofL Health with more than 15 years of experience in outpatient medicine. She specializes in evidence-based obesity care, partnering with patients to achieve sustainable improvements in weight and overall health. At the Advanced Bariatric and Medical Weight Management Center, she provides comprehensive medical weight management through individualized treatment plans that integrate lifestyle, behavioral, and pharmacologic therapies.

As Medical Director of the Internal Medicine Faculty Practice, Dr. Hittepole provides leadership and mentorship to medical students, residents, advanced practice providers, and faculty colleagues. She cares for a diverse panel of patients with complex medical conditions and is a strong advocate for the role of nutrition, physical activity, and other lifestyle interventions in preventing and managing chronic disease.

Dr. Hittepole is co-director of the Longitudinal Clinical Elective (LCE) for the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) at the University of Louisville. Through this course, she helps guide future physician-scientists as they develop clinical skills, professional identity, and patient-centered approaches to care in the outpatient setting.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Hittepole is the physician lead for the Louisville chapter of Walk with a Doc, an international organization that promotes movement, health education, social connection, and time in nature. She is also a founding member and treasurer of the Bluegrass Obesity Society, a network of healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing obesity care and improving the health of Kentuckians.
