SPONSORED PROJECTS

Dr. Richardson's scholarly interests sit at the intersection of sports medicine, primary care, and medical education. Her clinical research focuses on musculoskeletal and exertional conditions, including exertional leg pain and chronic exertional compartment syndrome, as well as women's health in sport, with an emphasis on contraception, nutrition, and hormonal health for female athletes. Her most active current research examines physician attitudes and barriers to prescribing hormone replacement therapy among residents and attendings in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Medicine-Pediatrics, and OB/GYN — an IRB-approved, student-led project she co-directs as Faculty Advisor and Co-PI. In medical education, Dr. Richardson's scholarly interests include pipeline and equity in admissions, the impact of policy changes on underrepresented-in-medicine applicants, and innovations in asynchronous and experiential learning. She has disseminated her work through peer-reviewed publications, nationally distributed reference texts, and presentations at the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the Association of American Medical Colleges.
