Camie Tomlinson, PhD, MSW, is an Assistant Professor in the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science at the University of Louisville. Dr. Tomlinson's research focuses on promoting psychological resilience among youth involved in the child welfare system. Her research focuses on: (1) expanding on current theoretical models of childhood adversity and disentangling the effects of different types of adversity on psychopathology; (2) investigating risk and protective factors that influence the association between childhood adversity and psychopathology; and (3) identifying youth most at risk for psychopathology. She also consults on projects related to the training of child welfare practitioners and foster/kinship caregivers with the goal of improving workforce retention/turnover rates and child welfare outcomes for youth and families.
