Chris Pennington is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Nursing Simulation at the University of Louisville (KY). Ms. Pennington obtained her Master of Nursing Education at Indiana State University, completed the IUPUI Simulation Immersion Institute, and is a 2019 alumnus of the NLN Sim Lead program. She has a certification for healthcare simulation educator (CHSE) and led efforts to achieve simulaiton center accreditation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) at the UofL SON. She has over 25 years of nursing experience with clinical concentrations in critical care and the cardiac catheterization procedures lab. Ms. Pennington has specialized in nursing education simulation for over 10 years in both academia and staff development. In her current role, Ms. Pennington integrated simulation across the pre-licensure curriculum, assisted in implementation of simulation in graduate programs, developed simulation education policies, procedures, and implemented professional development in simulation for all faculty and graduate teaching assistants.
