My name is Christopher K. Peters, MD, Professor in Pediatrics and a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist at the University Of Louisville (U of L) School Of Medicine and attending psychiatrist for Norton Children's Hospital Behavioral and Mental Health.  Since 2005, I have been the primary Sport Psychiatry consultant to U of L athletic department and their student-athletes and since 2022 to Bellarmine University athletic dept., and since 2024 to Hanover College athletic dept. and have treated many athletes of all ages (grade school through professional elite athletes).  I was a college athlete at Hanover College (Cross Country).  I am currently Listed on the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee Mental Health Directory – this is a vetted application process.  I am a member of the International Society for Sports Psychiatry (ISSP) where I am chair of the Youth Sports Committee.  I was awarded additioanal certificate training in Sports Psychiary by the ISSP.   I am also board certified by the American Board of Sports and Performance Psychiatry (ABSPP).  I am on the education committee for the ABSPP. I am a board member on the ThePeteFoundation.org working to continue to decrease the stigma and barriers for youth needing mental health care.
