My group specializes in sensors and actuators made from compliant (bendable) materials, using flexible microcantilevers as interposers to link microfabricated circuits with conductive fibers. We also research intrinsically stretchable optical and electronic sensor fibers, and methods to integrate them into larger devices. Developments here will move flexible and stretchable electronics beyond silicone rubber substrates onto soft, porous, stretchable, and breathable materials for improved performance.
