Dr. Cynthia Crabtree joined the University of Louisville Department of Pediatrics in 2021 and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Program Director for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship. She is also a member of the ONTPD Executive Board.

Dr. Crabtree earned her medical degree from Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at the University of Louisville. She then completed her Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship at the University of Louisville, during which she obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Investigational Science through the School of Public Health. Following fellowship, Dr. Crabtree joined Norton Children’s Neonatology, providing clinical care at both Norton Children’s Hospital and Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where she was actively engaged in several unit-based quality improvement initiatives. She was appointed Assistant Fellowship Director in 2020 and transitioned to Program Director in 2022. Her academic interests include medical education, mentoring, and educational innovation, with clinical interests focused on tiny baby care, neonatal nutrition, and delivery room practices.
