BIO

Dr. Metz is a graduate of the Department of Physiology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine (SOM), obtaining her Ph.D. in 2008.  She discovered a passion for teaching which led her to pursue a position at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida following graduation.  In 2011, she returned to to her home Department of Physiology at UofL, earning tenure in 2017 and becoming a full professor in 2023. She currently serves the administrative roles of Vice Chair and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Physiology.
