BIO

Daniel Riggs, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Environmental Medicine and the Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute. He is an environmental epidemiologist and his research focuses on understanding how the complex relations between environmental, societal, and lifestyle factors contribute to cardiovascular disease. He maintains a strong interest in understanding the immunological effects of exposure to high temperatures, air pollutants and features of the natural environment, and the ecological conditions which can modify the cardiovascular effects of these exposures. Dr. Riggs has authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles and is an active member of the American Heart Association and the International Society for Environmental Epidemiologists.
