Dr. Daniela Terson de Paleville is a Professor of Physiology and the Physiology Thread Director of the Dental Integrated Biomedical Sciences I & II at the University of Louisville. Since 2023, she has led the Physiology Active Learning Lab (PAL Lab), where she conducts research on innovative teaching and active learning. Her work focuses on implementing emergent technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality and artificial intelligence simulation, as well as experiential learning in physiology and biomedical sciences. A nationally recognized educator and recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the American Physiological Society Teaching Career Enhancement award. Dr. Terson de Paleville’s teaching is grounded in a social constructivist philosophy that emphasizes active, experiential, and team-based learning to promote engagement and practical skill development.  Additionally, she conducts translational research on spinal cord injury rehabilitation, with an emphasis on autonomic and respiratory function.  Her scholarship spans neurophysiology, rehabilitation science, and active learning approaches to physiology education.
