Dr. David Rouffet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health & Sport Sciences at the University of Louisville, specializing in biomechanics and human performance. His research uses cycling as a model to investigate the neuromechanical determinants of performance and motor control, with applications spanning elite athletes, healthy individuals, and clinical populations. He has worked with various national sport organizations and has contributed to the research developed at the Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center. He currently leads innovative projects integrating advanced instrumentation to assess human performance and actively fosters partnerships to bring science and technology in service of performance. In addition to his research, Dr. Rouffet teaches Advanced Biomechanics and Neuromuscular Aspects of Human Performance courses where he integrates theory with hands-on lab experiences to prepare students for a variety of careers in the fields of athletic performance and rehabilitation.
