David Samuelson, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics (BMG) in the School of Medicine. His PhD in cancer biology is from the University of Arizona. He completed post-doctoral training at the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, University of Wisconsin-Madison before coming to the University of Louisville as an assistant professor in 2007. David was the director of graduate studies (DGS) for BMG from 2018 to 2025. In that position, he gained experience hearing and resolving concerns of graduate research assistants (GRAs). He also provided guidance to assist GRAs in navigating the BMG graduate program, as well as advancing their respective career goals.
