An Associate Professor, Dr. Debbie Potter is a medical sociologist with a joint PhD (Sociology; Social Policy) from Brandeis University. 

Before joining U of L, Dr. Potter held various senior-level positions in applied research. For eight years, she worked in a non-profit evaluation agency as a lead evaluator of state and national mental health programs. Prior to that, for ten years, she was a health research scientist and director of proposal development for a health policy research organization.
