This is my brief bio in academia: I received my BS and MS degrees in Probability and Statistics from Peking University, P. R. China, in 1990 and 1993. Then I obtained a Regents Fellowship to study in the Department of Statistics and Applied Probability at the University of California, Santa Barbara from 1995 to 1999, and earned a Ph.D. in Statistics and an MS in Computer Science in 1999. Afterwards, I worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Biostatistics at the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston TX, from January 2000 to August 2001. Following that, I worked as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Mississippi State University (MSU) from August 2001 to August 2007. I was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure at MSU in May 2007. In September 2007, I joined the University of Louisville (UofL) as a tenure-track Associate Professor and was granted tenure in 2014; I was promoted to full professor with tenure at UofL in 2021.
