Dr. Borchman is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Louisville.  He is also an adjunct Professor in the Departments of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physiology and Biophysics.  He earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Wayne State University MI in 1986 and is the author of over 130 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals.  He is/was principal or co-investigator on 7 major peer awarded government grants totaling over 10 million dollars to study cataract and dry eye.  His 1^st and last major NIH grants scored in the top 5% and 2% of the nation, respectively. He has given over 250 scientific presentations around the world.
