Dr McRae is actively engaged at the national level as a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). She serves as the current Chair of the Professional Issues Committee, NAPNAP, and as a member of the Congress Planning Committee and a Member-at-large for the Pediatric Section Executive Committee, SCCM. In 2023, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Critical Care Medicine (ACCM).  Locally, Dr. McRae is the founder and former president of the Kentucky Chapter of NAPNAP and continues to serve on the Board as treasurer. Along with her Team, she coordinates and hosts the Kentucky Chapter of NAPNAP's Annual Pediatric Update Conference to deliver pertinent practice, Board of Nursing, and legislative updates for Nurse Practitioners throughout the region.
