A Louisville native, Emily Noonan is a medical anthropologist and Assistant Professor in Undergradute Medical Education at the University of Louisville (UofL) School of Medicine. Her primary areas of research are curriculum to reduce disparities experienced by LGBTQ+ people and people with disabilities. In addition to this research, she is a co-director for the Introduction to Clinical Medicine course, incorporating social medicine content and the lived experiences of patients into the medical school curriculum. Dr. Noonan also directs the ULSOM Distinction Track Program. 

Dr. Noonan earned a master's degree from Georgia State University in 2004, and a doctotate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018. Dr. Noonan is adjunct faculty in Anthropology (College of Arts & Sciences) and Health Promotion & Behavior (School of Public Health & Information Sciences).

In her free time, Dr. Noonan enjoys cross-stitch and entering her work in the Kentucky State Fair.
