Dr. Elizabeth "Liz" Schumacher completed her doctoral training at the University of Iowa, psychology residency at the University of Minnesota, and pediatric psychology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.   In 1995, she moved to Louisville to take a position in the division of Neonatal Medicine.  In 2002, she was named Associate Director of the UofL Neonatal Follow Up Program.  She took the position of Co-Director of the UofL Neonatal Follow Up Program in 2009.  Her primary areas of interest are high-risk infant development, neonatal abstinence syndrome, extremely low birthweight developmental sequelea, and early intervention programming.
