Dr. Hui Wang joined the faculty of the University of Louisville in August 2016 and is currently an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to joining UofL, she held appointments as postdoctoral associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from 2014 to 2016. Her research group (Solid Energy Research Laboratory) focus on advanced materials for energy storage and conversion. The energy storage systems include solid-state batteries, Li/Na-metal batteries, Na-ion batteries, etc. The central theme of her research is discovering novel energy materials and translating materials to advance different applications such as batteries, catalysts, and solar cells. She has co-authored more than 60 journal articles, including publications in Energy Environmental Science, Advanced Functional Materials, Nano Energy, Advanced Science, Small, etc. Her work has been recognized with several awards, including the Ascending Star Fellow (2025), Student Champion Faculty at UofL (2023), Emerging Researcher at UofL (2022), and NSF CAREER award (2021).
