Heather M. Ouellette is an associate professor in the Department of Criminal Justice. Her research examines jails and local corrections, as well as public and practitioner perspectives on criminal legal system policy and practice. Her recent scholarship has appeared in Criminology & Public Policy, The Prison Journal, and the Journal of Experimental Criminology. She teaches research methods and corrections, emphasizing clear explanations and helping students connect course material to how criminal legal systems work. She previously served as Director of Undergraduate Studies, where she led work on curriculum, program assessment, and student success.
