Professor Heend Sheth is Clinic Director and Assistant Professor of Law at Brandeis Law, where she leads the Ackerson Law Clinic and teaches Clinic I and Clinic II. Her courses focus on representing low-income survivors of domestic violence in Jefferson County Family and District Courts, while preparing students in trial practice, courtroom advocacy and client counseling.

Professor Sheth’s legal career has centered on domestic violence law. She began as a victim’s advocate in Jefferson County’s Domestic Violence Intake Center before serving as an assistant Jefferson County attorney in the Domestic Violence Unit, where she prosecuted cases involving domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse and sexual assault.

She joined Brandeis Law in 2018 as a staff attorney for the Ackerson Law Clinic, mentoring third-year students in interviewing and advising survivors and preparing cases for trial. Now as director, she continues to shape the clinic’s mission of advancing justice while providing students with hands-on legal experience.

Professor Sheth’s professional interests also include trial practice. She has coached and consulted with mock trial teams throughout her career and is a proud alumna of the Bellarmine Mock Trial Team.

She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association and Women Lawyers Association, and serves on the board of directors for the Friends of the Jefferson County Public Law Library.
