Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Genetics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and completed postdoctoral training in immunogenetics, immunology, and cancer biology at Washington State University. He began his research in fish genetics, focusing on population genetics and immunogenetics, before transitioning to alcohol-related immunotoxicology, cancer immunology, and immunotherapy. His current work centers on double-negative T cell–mediated tumor immunology and novel immunotherapies. He is also committed to education and mentorship, teaching Cellular and Molecular Biology and Methods, Biotechnology, and Cancer Immunology at graduate (Ph.D.) and professional (Pharm.D.) levels.
