BIO

Ibis Sierra Audivert holds a dual Ph.D. in Spanish and Visual Studies from Penn State University (2023). She has served at Penn State University and recently at Davidson College as a CFD Post-doctoral Teaching Fellow of Hispanic Studies and as Resident Director of the Davidson-IES study abroad program in Madrid. Her teaching spans elementary to upper-level Spanish courses, with a focus on cultural identity, social justice, and visual storytelling. She is passionate about mentoring students, coordinating immersive international programs, and developing curricula that reflect global perspectives.

 

She specializes in 20th-and 21st-century Latin American literature and visual culture with a focus on questions of subjectivity, gender and sexuality, community, and displacement. Her teaching and research examine literature and digital media from a transnational and transatlantic lens, while emphasizing the intellectual, material, and affective (net)work of minority groups.
