Jamie Wise is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology in the School of Medicine at the University of Louisville. As an Early-Stage Investigator, she has a strong record of productivity in biomedical research with over 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts published, 120 abstracts, one book chapter and over 20 seminars presentations (including several at international conferences and as an invited speaker at international universities) focused on the impact of environmental contaminants (particularly metals) on human and animal health. Her current research program is centered around discovering new insights into how environmental toxicants affect health and cause disease, including cancer, focusing on environmental liver disease, with the ultimate goal of providing a platform for the creation of novel target therapies and diagnostic tools related to age and individual differences in disease etiology.
