Jason M. Vanatta, MD is Professor of Surgery in the Division of Hepatobiliary and Transplant Surgery in the Hiram C. Polk, Jr. MD Department of Surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is clinically affiliated with UofL Health Trager Transplant Center at UofL Health Jewish Hospital and with UofL Health Physicians - General Surgery.  He earned MD at the MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine (nka Drexel University College of Medicine) in Philadelphia, PA.  He completed General Surgery residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery in Houston, TX and followed that with  Transplant Surgery fellowship at the Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. He was previously Division Chief and Executive Director/Surgical Director of Liver Transplantation/Surgical Director of Living Donor Liver Transplantation/Transplant Research Institute Director at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN.  and was also previously Director of the Center for Abdominal Transplantation at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston, FL.
