Jennifer L. Howell is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator for Mental Health Nursing at the University of Louisville School of Nursing. With over three decades of experience in nursing practice, administration, and education, she brings deep expertise in psychiatric-mental health nursing, nursing leadership, and student clinical education. She currently teaches and coordinates clinical experiences for both BSN students, with a focus on mental health and community-based nursing care.

Before transitioning into full-time academia, Professor Howell held several leadership positions, including Director of Nursing in correctional psychiatric facilities and private healthcare staffing. She has served as a course coordinator, clinical instructor, and adjunct faculty at multiple Kentucky nursing programs since 2004. She is committed to preparing practice-ready nurses through experiential learning, professional engagement, and evidence-based approaches to mental health care.
