Jennifer Koch, MD, FACP, is a general internist with UofL Health/UofL Physicians who teaches primary care to internal medicine residents.  She has served the UofL Department of Medicine as Vice Chair of Education and Faculty Affairs since 2022.  Dr. Koch's career as an educator has spanned over 20 years.  Following a year as chief medical resident at the University of Louisville, she spent 9 years as an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, followed by 8 years as the Program Director prior to taking on her role as Vice Chair.  She was named V. V. Cooke Endowed Chair in 2025.

Dr. Koch is passionate about developing residents and faculty across the span of their careers.  She serves on UofL School of Medicine's Promotion, Appointment, and Tenure Committee.  Her primary research interest is gender equity in graduate medical education.  She has published in journals such as Academic Medicine and the Journal of General Internal Medicine (JGIM).  She serves as a peer reviewer for several journals and sits on the editorial board for JGIM. 

Dr. Koch is active in multiple national organizations including:

• American College of Physicians - Fellow, and past recipient of Laureate Award
• Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine - APDIM and APM
• Society of General Internal Medicine - named to the Women and Medicine Commission
• AAMC - senior UofL representative to the Council of Faculty and Academic Societies
