BIO
Dr. Jian Du-Caines did her undergraduate studies in China, receiving her Bachelor’s degree from the Chengdu Institute of Meteorology in 1999. She then obtained her Master’s degree in 2002 from the Lanzhou Institute of Atmospheric Physics. In 2002, she pursued further graduate studies at the University of New Brunswick in Canada, where her dissertation was entitled ‘A mesosphere and lower thermosphere dynamics study using the Extended Canadian Middle Atmospheric Model (CMAM).’ She received her PhD in 2007, followed by three years of postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge in the UK. In 2011, Dr Du-Caines joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Louisville as an Assistant Professor. She is now a tenured Associate Professor.
