John Caruso Ph.D. is a full-time tenured professor within The Department of Health & Sport Sciences at The University of Louisville. His interest in spaceflight-related research began as a National Research Council Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at The Johnson Space Center’s Exercise Countermeasures Laboratory. He conducts research on a wide variety of topics related to human health and performance, but two which he has focused on since coming to Louisville include amelioration of exercise-induced body heat accrual, and potential in-flight exercise strategies and hardware to mitigate musculoskeletal deficits incurred from manned space travel.
