Josephine Gomes, MD, FACP, Associate Professor in the University of Louisville Department of Family and Geriatric Medicine, serves as the Medical Director of the Brain Health and Dementia Care Service at the U of L Optimal Aging Clinic. She spearheads innovative person-centered initiatives to enhance diagnosis, treatment, and long-term support for individuals with cognitive disorders. She is the Medical Director for the GUIDE program. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine and practices at the Republic Bank Foundation Optimal Aging Clinic. She actively engages in teaching and precepting Geriatric Fellows, residents, medical students, and interdisciplinary learners, and serves as the Associate Program Director of the Geriatric Fellowship program and faculty lead for the Geriatric Medicine Interest group. Dr. Gomes’s areas of special interest are in cognitive disorders, fall prevention, and optimal aging.
