I have been actively engaged in professional teaching activities since my days as a resident at Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL). While at WUSTL, I developed and provided numerous AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ CME approved seminars for faculty and served as a consult to WUSTL physicians to guide appropriate diagnostic test selection and was responsible for approving clinical laboratory testing orders for patient care. I am committed to mentoring and teaching undergraduate, graduate, professional students, postdocs, and visiting faculty. I have been a continuous faculty mentor for our NCI R25 Cancer Education Program since 2015. I have administrative teaching roles in our department via directing the UofL Dental School Pharmacology course and the interdisciplinary MS track in Nanomedicine that I created and developed along with my bioengineering colleague Dr. Herman Frieboes. I provide the antibiotic learning modules for the Medical School and instruct problem-based learning sessions for medical students and graduate students. I am a member of the School of Medicine Education Program Committee which is responsible for the medical school curriculum. I also serve on our departmental teaching evaluation committee tasked with reviewing faculty teaching efforts for promotion, tenure, and periodic career review.
