Judith Theriot, M.D., received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of New Orleans, and received her medical degree and completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of Louisville. She joined the UofL faculty in 1997. In 2019, she became the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services Medical Director.

Dr. Theriot’s research experience has focused primarily on the needs of underserved children. She has also been involved with vaccine studies and other clinical trials, as well as in curriculum development including needs assessments around caring for underserved children and training our medical students and residents to recognize the needs of these patients and help identify resources for them. Dr. Theriot currently serves as the Medical Director of the Kentucky Office for Children with Special Health Care Needs.
