Karen Christopher is Professor of Sociology at University of Louisville. Her research interests include intersections of gender, race, and class in families and workplaces. She regularly teaches Sociology of Families, Introduction to Sociology, Gender and Work, and Qualitative Methods (graduate). In 2020, she was awarded the Arts & Sciences and University Distinguished Faculty Awards in Full-time Teaching. In 2022 she received the University Catalyst Champion Award from the UofL Comission on the Status of Women. She served as Chair of Arts & Sciences Faculty Assembly  from 2016-2018 and serves as Director of Graduate Studies in Sociology from 2023-2026.
