Dr Kalpana Venkatasubramanian is a human geographer whose work applies a critical political ecological lens to examine how climate change, environmental governance and everyday human-environment relations unfold across diverse scales.  Her doctoral research at Rutgers University investigated how  climate change policy and action were framed in India and how these narratives intersected with the lived experiences of rural pastoral communities. Her current research at the University of Louisville focuses on community engagement with urban green spaces and wetlands in Louisville, KY and documenting multi-dimensional community experiences to inform nature-based solutions that are both just and equitable. At UofL, Venkatasubramanian teaches courses in Human Geography, Politics of Climate Change and Human Geography of South Asia.
