BIO

Dr. Kandis Adkins received her B.S. in chemistry, summa cum laude, from Florida A&M University in 2004. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University in 2008. Dr. Adkins completed a transitional year internship at Ball Memorial Hospital in 2009, a residency in Anesthesiology at Indiana University in 2012, and a Critical Care Fellowship at Duke University Hospital in 2013.

 

Dr. Adkins is an Associate Professor in the Critical Care Division for the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Louisville. She is the Division Chief of Critical Care for the department and in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. For the School of Medicine, she also serves as an Advisory Dean, a Facilitator for problem-based learning, and on the Clinical Competency Committees for both the cardiothoracic surgery and adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowships. 

 

Dr. Adkins is the President of the Falls City Medical Society, where she founded the Pathway to Medicine Partnership.
