Dr. Harman received her doctoral training from the University of Louisville, School of Medicine in the Department of Anatomical Sciences and Neurobiology. In addition to her graduate training at U of L, Dr. Harman also completed an international fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada where she investigated the progression of both autonomic and locomotor dysfunction following central nervous system injury and disease.

Dr. Harman currently works as an Associate Professor in the Exercise Physiology program in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences. In her role as Undergraduate Program Director, she oversees curriculum development, course scheduling, and student academic progression to ensure that students are well prepared for graduate study and professional careers. As Graduate Program Coordinator, she manages admissions, guides students through program requirements, and supports graduate research and professional development. In addition, she serves as Assistant Department Chair, where her responsibilities include supporting faculty, contributing to strategic planning, overseeing academic program success, and helping to shape departmental policies and initiatives. Across these roles, Dr. Harman works closely with students, faculty, and administrators to strengthen academic programs and enhance the student experience.
