Laura Tscherry researches transatlantic modernist and midcentury literature, magazines and periodicals, with a particular interest in the intersections of literature, architecture, and visual art. Their projects explore queer and trans domesticity in the long twentieth century, with a focus on non-traditional, collective, and institutional housing and family arrangements.

Their work has appeared in Modernism/modernity Print Plus, Feminist Modernist Studies, and Virginia Woolf Miscellany. 

They received their PhD in English from Indiana University Bloomington. In 2025-2026, they are a Scholars of Sexology Fellow at the Kinsey Institute.

At Louisville they teach courses on queer and trans memoir and oral history, LGBTQ Literature in the US, and writing.
