BIO

Laura Workman, MD, FAAP, FACP, is a med-peds hospitalist with UofL Health/UofL Physicians and Norton Children's Hospital who works and teaches hospital medicine to internal medicine, pediatrics, and med-peds residents.  In addition to her clinical work, she serves as the Med-Peds Residency Program Director, a role she has held since 2014.

 

Dr. Workman has an interest in mentoring residents and students and developing curriculum that will enhance their education.  She has developed and runs the Med-Peds elective that incorporates elements of community engangement, advocacy, business of medicine, and transitions of care.  She also serves as an Advisory Dean for medical students and a faculty facilitator for the Humanism in Medicine Course at UofL School of Medicine.

 

Dr. Workman is active in multiple national organizations:

  • Med Peds Program Director's Association  - serves on Recruitment Committee 
  • American Academy of Pediatrics - fellow, serves as District IV rep for Section on Early Career Physicians and member of the Med-Peds Section on Education
  • American College of Physicians - fellow
  • Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine - APDIM
  • Association of Pediatric Program Directors - APPD
