BIO
Lindsay J. Della, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Louisville. She has a doctorate in Health Promotion and Behavior from the University of Georgia's College of Public Health and a master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University. She is a health communication scholar who applies marketing communication principles to address systemic health disparities. As an interdisciplinary researcher, she has received multiple grants funded by the National Institutes of Health, applying cross-cutting mixed methods research strategies to understand cancer and cardiovascular disease prevention. She has also conducted research into diabetes-related social stigma in Appalachian communities. At the University of Louisville, she serves as the Co-Director of the Institute for Intercultural Communication and the Director of Communication Internships. She teaches courses in quantitative research methods, qualitative research methods, health communication campaign planning, health and the media, and strategic communication. In 2024, she was named Communication Professional of the Year by the Kentucky Communication Association. In her free time, Dr. Della enjoys swimming and spending time with her family.
