BIO

Vitamin A is an essential nutrient that is metabolized into the potent hormone-like molecule retinoic acid. Our studies focus on identifying how Vitamin A and retinoic acid regulate development and re-growth of tissues such as salivary glands, vascular networks, and craniofacial structures.  We seek to understand the biological processes regulated by retinoid molecules so that we may use them to promote healing and repair of damaged tissues.
