BIO

Dr. Severtson is a native of Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington state and a magna cum laude graduate of Yale University.  He earned his medical degree from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his otolaryngology residence at Loyola University, Chicago in 1997.  He extended his training with an American Otologic Society aproved fellowship in otology & neurotology through the Ear Foundation and Vanderbilt University in Nashville TN. 

 

He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology (ABO) in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.  Additionally he holds subspeciality board certification in Neurotology (also governed by the ABO).

 

After 28 years in private practice and as a UofL clinical instructor Dr. Severtson formally joined UofL's School of Medicine as an Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology and Cumminicative Disorders in 2026 concentrating his practice on medical and surgical diseases of the ear, lateral skull base tumors and balance system.
