Dr. Matthew Fox received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis in 2003. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Louisville in 2007. His residency in General Surgery was completed in 2013 at UofL, and his residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery (thoracic track) was completed in 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Fox completed 2 visiting fellowships at Toronto General Hospital and the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Fox is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at UofL. He also serves as the Surgical Director of the Respiratory ECMO Program at Jewish Hospital.
