Kossi Mawuena Logan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pan-African Studies at the University of Louisville, KY, where he teaches African/Postcolonial and African Diaspora literatures, and Race theory. His publications include Narrating Africa (1999); “Identity, the 'Passing' Novel, and the Phenomenology of ‘Race’” in Exploitation and Misrule in Colonial and Postcolonial Africa (2019); “Legba in the House: African Cosmology in Their Eyes Were Watching God” in Zora Neale Hurston, Haiti, and Their Eyes Were Watching God(2013); “Postmodern Identity: Blackness and the Making of President Obama” in The Obama Phenomenon (2010), and “Ghostly” Narratives and Transatlantic/Global African Identity Politics.” Africa Today 70.2 (Winter 2023). His research interests encompass African and African Diaspora identities, literatures, and cultures, African cosmology, postcoloniality, and Afro-Brazilians in West Africa. He is currently working on a monograph titled Pan-African Journeys: Writing Africa and the African Diaspora.
